Sponsoring children in need is breaking the cycle of poverty  

Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.

Founded by Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training.

Today, Compassion helps more than 860,000 children in 24 countries.

Changing the world one child at a time
Compassion focuses on the spiritual, economic, social and physical needs of children. Our Child Sponsorship Program is unique in that it is:

• Christ Centered. Each child has an opportunity to hear the gospel in an age-appropriate and culturally relevant way.
• Child Focused. Engaging each child as a complete person, we treat children like we'd want our own children treated.
• Church Based. We partner with churches, parents and communities — to teach, train and mentor children.
